want to know where to buy local?

Turns out, I didn't need to remake the wheel when finding out where to buy my food. For where I'm at, Eat Greater Des Moines has a great, incredibly extensive, map of farmers markets, farm stands, CSA options, and more, on their website.

Folks in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area can access a similar resource through Field to Family. Just click the tab that says "Find Local Food."

For a more statewide approach, Practical Farmers of Iowa has a directory of PFI members offering local food. Their website comes complete with what you can expect to find at each location.

Other resources come up just by googling "local food in Iowa" (or whichever state you're looking to buy in).

The amount of information out their is absolutely spec[taco]lar.
