recipe: cheesy cabbage

Ingredients:
Half a head of cabbage
Four slices of American cheese
S&P

Directions:
Cut up the cabbage. I take out the core, slice it like bread, and then go around the slice in little wedges. That tends to make nice, bite-size pieces. But do whatever you need to do. Put the cabbage in a microwave safe bowl, add some salt, and microwave it for a bit. Say three minutes. Take it out, do a little stir, put the cheese on top. Microwave again. And then keep microwaving until the cheese is melted and the cabbage is soft/tender. And pepper to taste.

Disclaimer #1:
Possibly, this sounds disgusting. But it really is delicious. If you're anti-American cheese, that's totally fine. Find a different cheese. If you hate the microwave, also fine. Use the stove. But I think this cheesy cabbage may just rock your world. The same as cheesy broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, probably every vegetable, makes a cheese lover's heart sing.

Disclaimer #2:
Cabbage, like spinach and other greens, shrinks when it's cooked. Half a cabbage (depending on the cabbage size) should be enough to give three to four people a decent sized side to their meal. Clearly, using the whole cabbage is an option. Just double the cheese.
